Activity 1: Finish the sentences

Add the correct article or preposition + article combination (im, am, um etc.). Remember that verbs of location come with dative but verbs of direction come with accusative!

  • Wohin legt die Mutter das Handtuch? Sie legt das Handtuch auf Sofa. Es liegt jetzt auf Sofa.

  • Wohin hängen sie die Badetasche? Sie hängen die Badetasche an Haken. Sie hängt jetzt Haken.

  • Wohin setzt der Vater die kleine Sabine? Er setzt Sabine in Hochstuhl. Sie sitzt jetzt Hochstuhl.

  • Wohin setzt sich die Mutter? Sie setzt sich auf Sessel. Sie sitzt jetzt auf Sessel.

  • Wohin stellen sie die Wasserflaschen? Sie stellen sie unter Tisch. Sie stehen jetzt unter Tisch.

Activity 2: What do you see?

Look at the picture. Describe what you see by using the correct verbs.

  • Das Glas Milch auf dem Tisch. (stehen/stellen)

  • Die Schüssel vor dem Teddy. (stehen/stellen)

  • Der Mann hat den Strumpf unter die Schüssel . (legen/liegen)

  • Die Zeitschriften neben dem Milchglas. (legen/liegen)

  • Jemand hat die Schüssel mit Brot auf das Handy . (stehen/stellen)
